This week’s Employee Highlight features Receptionist/Accounting Clerk, Katy Barton. Katy has been with Excellance for15 years and we decided it was a great time to ask her about her experiences this far.
Tell us a little bit about yourself and what you do at Excellance.
Katy Barton: I am married with four children ages fifteen, eight and five. The twins are both five years old. I am the Receptionist/Accounting Clerk at Excellance.
How did you first learn about Excellance?
Katy: I first heard about Excellance when Steve Vaughan came through my check-out line at Lowe’s and offered me a job.
How long have you been at Excellance and what do you think you have gained during that time?
Katy: I have been with Excellance for 15 years and I have gained a lot of experience in different areas of the company. I have also gained friends that have become family.
Before working at Excellance, what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had?
Katy: I am not sure about unusual but interesting would have to be when I worked at the University of Alabama while I was in school.
If you were stuck on an island what three things would you bring?
Katy: I would bring books, sunscreen and my kids.
What did you always want to try and never did?
Katy: I would have to say scuba diving with great white sharks. I will do this someday!
What is the first thing you would buy if you won the lottery?
Katy: A new mini-van–a red Honda Odyssey.
