Rush University Medical Center has announced their plans to launch a Mobile Stroke Unit manufactured by Excellance, Inc.
“Receiving the correct treatment for stroke quickly can mean the difference between life and death or disability, but it in most cases treatment must be provided to patients shortly after a stroke to be effective. To make this crucial care more immediately available, the Rush Comprehensive Stroke Center is planning to develop a mobile stroke unit that will bring immediate stroke diagnosis and treatment to patients at their homes, or wherever they’re in need. The unit, serving in parts of the western suburbs, will be one of only a handful of its kind in the United States.”
